Balance and Vestibular Rehabilitation
People with vestibular conditions often experience problems with dizziness, including vertigo, visual disturbances, and/or imbalance. These conditions can decrease the quality of a person's daily activities, cause anxiety and fear of falling, and can lead to a sedentary lifestyle.
At ProActive PT, we offer Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT). VRT is a specialized approach using exercise and movement-based activities to alleviate problems caused by vestibular conditions. VRT includes a comprehensive clinical assessment, which utilizes a variety of tests to identify the patient's underlying problem. A customized exercise and balance program is then developed from this assessment to help the patients move and feel better.
As we age, maintaining good integration of the balance control systems is very important. People over the age of 65 are especially susceptible to poor balance, which can lead to an increased risk of fall, fracture, and even higher mortality rates.
Let the Physical Therapists at ProActive Physical Therapy and Performance Center help you to improve your balance, decrease your risk of falling, and improve your quality of life. Get your confidence back and prosper!
